Ninhursag, the "Lady of Birth" or "Lady of the Sacred Mountain," is the ancient Sumerian Mother Goddess birthing the deities that would bring the Goddess Inanna. Her hair was often worn in a curly omega like shape, said to symbolize the womb, as she gave guidance during pregnancy and childbirth. This symbol is created in repetition to form the Lady of Birth Collar, paying tribute to the great mother.
